Minecraft Rules

General Rule and the Vanilla Server

Treat others with respect.

There’s no need to say or do things to make others feel bad or upset.

Trolling, generally defined as provoking a person/situation to get a response, is also not allowed.

Offensive content is not allowed.

While some minor amount of swearing is allowed, severe or frequent vulgarity, especially when directed at others, is not.

Offensive items, mobs, or other names, skins, Minecraft structures and usernames are not allowed, and you are required to change or remove any if asked by a staff member.

Keep chat family-friendly.

The chat should be family-friendly. This means certain subjects are not allowed in chat.

These include, but are not limited to, discussions about sex, politics, religion or drugs. If a staff member asks you to move a conversation elsewhere or drop one, you should do so.

There are exceptions to this rule for VIP chat, ELDER chat, politics chat, and private chat channels.

Advertising is not allowed.

Advertising any other Minecraft server is strictly banned.

You also may not advertise websites, YouTube channels, Twitch streams, or anything else if it is not related to Ragnarok Galaxy.

Exceptions to streams may be provided, speak with staff.

Allow Staff to do their jobs.

You may not attempt to do a staff member’s job in threatening to punish players for breaking the rules.

You are not allowed to argue against any decision made by a staff member regarding enforcement of the rules in any public channel.

If you do disagree, please contact that staff member privately to resolve the issue, and if you cannot, contact Councillors via our staff feedback form.

If you are the recipient of punishment and wish to dispute either the severity or of the punishment as a whole, please contact both the administering Admin and another Admin within the Minecraft Staff to dispute the issue. The punishment may stand, lessen in severity, or be revoked entirely.

Spamming is not allowed.

Spamming is defined as filling chat with multiple unneeded characters or messages.

This rule also applies to spamming commands that don’t necessarily show up in chat or shouting or to the extent of making chat hard to read.

Cheating is not tolerated.

Cheating in any form is not allowed.

Cheating is defined as anything that would give you an unfair advantage over other players. This can include client mods, abusing server bugs, using alt accounts to financially benefit your main account.

If you believe something to be cheating then it probably is. You can always ask the staff if you are unsure.

Trading For Real Items*

Transactions to buy or sell in-game items or currency for real money or other external products are not allowed. This includes Minecraft accounts!

This action would violate Minecraft’s end user license agreement (EULA) and will be taken very seriously.

*As of now, this does not seem to include player skins. This is the exception as of now.

Griefing is not allowed.

Griefing is considered destroying or changing another player’s property or buildings without their consent in any protected or indicated area.

A protected area is defined as any location that is claimed using server mechanics such as, but not limited, to FTB Teams, Claimed chunks, etc.

An indicated area is defined as any location that appears to be player built or controlled that shows continued habitation or use by another player.

Griefing during a faction or team war is permitted so long as destruction is approved by BOTH teams prior to engagement and a proper declaration is made between the two warring parties. This declaration should be made public as such to allow staff to verify proper parley has occurred (Discussion between the parties).

Do not scam other players, or try to.

Scamming is defined as taking money, items, work, or anything else of value from another player dishonestly.

These rules are subject to change WITH notice. Please periodically review this page regardless.

Distance from Spawn

Please build 500 blocks (1/2 km) or greater from spawn.

Spawn is defined as the walls or sea wall of the port city not of the spawn block itself.

Nether Portals

Do not build nether portals. Anyone found to have a nether portal will have the land “corrupted” around their portal.

This corruption will make the world around the portal look like the Nether and will be done by staff once they discover the portal.

There is a publicly available super portal located on the map not too far from spawn for your convenience.

Ability Totems

Ability totems should not be locatable or drop from mobs and if found should be brought to the attention of staff for their destruction.

Anyone caught in violation of this rule will be stripped of all abilities on their first offence and temp banned on the subsequent violations. The length of the temp ban will be determined by the violation.

Roleplay Chat

Our Modded server runs uChat to provide multiple chat channels.

All roleplay should be performed in the local [ /ch l ] channel and utilize asterisks [ * ] to italicize the chat to indicate an action and quotations [ ” ] to indicate character chat. This channel has a range of 64 blocks,

Additional roleplay channels include racial languages and will be included here shortly. These channels should only be used if you are able to speak or understand the relevant language.

All out of character chat/discussions should be done in global [ /ch g ] so as not to clutter the roleplay channel.

Any request for help from staff should be done either in the Discord channel #help-desk or #minecraft or using the Help Desk [ /ch HD ] in-game if there is a staff member around.

Character Death

Character death occurs when either the player agrees that said character is dead either due to combat or other reasons, OR

The character may be killed using reasonable combat mechanics in roleplay (RP) by another player.

Any disagreements regarding the previous clause or whether it pertains to you and your RP should be discussed IN DETAIL with staff for the final decision. This is to ensure fair roleplay and character deaths.

More Player Models (F12 GUI)

All players should utilize this mod to define your character’s appearance based on your race. Should you require assistance please contact Tech or Lore teams for guidance on the use of MPM2.

All general or vanilla rules on griefing apply as well as:

The use of Dragons or other means to grief another player’s base OUTSIDE of agreed-upon combat is prohibited.

The destruction of lore protected sites, including cities, towns, racial locations, nether lore sites, is prohibited. Any player caught violating lore protections will be handled swiftly and severely based upon their violation by staff.

Server Events

These griefing rules will be updated before the first server event is live. Please stay tuned for more information.

End portals

End portals are protected server assets and cannot be claimed by players. This is in order to allow others to access the end.
